Black dhide has better melee defense where as Karils has slightly better range and mage defense by around 15% in terms of numbers. The cost difference between black dhide and Karils is 99.6%. The massive range (10 squares vs rcb 7 vs karil 8) is really nice to have and the thing is pretty damn accurate (100 vs rcb 90 and karils 84) with decent damage splats (78 range str vs karils 55 and rcb addy bolts 100/mith 82).
